Årdalsfjorden, Sogn of Fjordane, Norway

This is Årdalsfjorden, seen from Årdalsvangen at its end. It is one of the arms of Sognefjord, which is the longest fjord in Europe, the deepest in Norway and the second longest in the world, with its 204 km long. It reaches a maximum depth of 1,308 m below sea level. Cliffs surrounding the fjord rise almost sheer from the water to heights of 1000m. Others main arms are Aurlandsfjoren, Lustrafjorden, Lærdalsfjorden, Sogndalsfjorden and Fjærlandsfjorden.
