Photographer's Note

It's the third time on a row I try to post this picture. I send the wrong ones by accident, but now I checked once again, it's the one!

I especially like Norway under this light, maybe not the ideal weather for tourisme but certainly the atmosphere I most love.
And it must have inspired artists as Ibsen or Grieg, don't you think?

From National Parks site, about Jotunheimen moutains:

In 1862, inspired by the wild landscape and influenced by Norse mythology, the Norwegian poet Aasmund Olavsson Vinje gave these mountains their present name - "Jotun" means giant, and that is exactly what Jotunheimen is - the Home of the Giants . In ancient Norse mythology the gods lived in Åsgard, the humans in Midgard, and the bad giants in Jotunheimen .

(If the giants of the viking age had the dimensions of the mountains in Jotunheimen one would surely be afraid of them! ;-)
