Photographer's Note

The tiltle is taken from the sign behind the crane, under the "no smoking" sign. It is obvious that there are strict safety regulations regarding the unloading and loading of ships and during handling of cranes as shown in the picture here. The Bergen freight port today has a fairly central location on Dokken by the Puddefjord.

However, there are plans to move the freight port within five years, to Ågotnes, which is located in Øygarden municipality in one of the neighboring municipalities of Bergen. Today, the port handles about 35,000 containers annually and has about 14,000 ship calls. It requires upgrading infrastructure related to future placement.

The areas where the freight port is today are, among other things, relevant as the location of a new aquarium. I will upload two WS photos with a wider view. All three pictures were taken from the bridge Puddefjordsbroen in October 2019.

Erling, superb photo that shows the port activity in Bergen. The crane is going to load containers. They are carried by huge ships. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

WS-bilderna beskriver läget i hamnen bättre, men den här tätt beskurna bilden är den överlägset bästa kompositionen. Egentligen är ju sådana här containrar inte alls vackra, men med alla dessa färger och former tätt packade ger bilden ett fantastiskt dynamiskt intryck. Alla små detaljer och det fina ljuset gör det till en fröjd att beskåda din komposition.

Action at the port always intriguing and dynamic scene. With excellent light condition you were able to show bright three picture upon this location.

Hej Erling!

This stands in strong contradiction to what CLODO posted recently: a crane with a heavy concrete plate and the operator just below it.
Impressive especially by the included crane shadow and the vivid colours.

this is just too good, I wish we could see more shots and subjects like this on TE, we don't anymore, or at least very rarely. Cool to have the shadow as part of the scene as well.
