Reflections op Democracy
To join the popularity of uploading panorama-pictures I decided to stitch six pictures together of a shining detail of the facade of the parlemtary building in The Hague.
In the workshop you can find a more extensive view of the façade.
Behind the façade is the “wandelgang”, a corridor for parliamentary lobby. The corridor is situated around the Pleneray Hall.
The new building of the House of Representatives (Tweede Kamer) was opened in 1992.
The architect is Pi de Bruin, who designed both the exterior and the interior.
The small upload is a double mirror image around the horizontal x-axis.
I made the pictures during a inspiring photo-shooting together with Bert and Lars.
We decided to choose for the Hague for we think this very interesting town with its old city and modern governmental buildings is highly underrepresented.
So look out the next days and weeks for the new uploads of Bertolucci and Tue

The small version makes one curious...the large version is revelation!! Great job, I like it a lot.

Hi Rob,
The reflections can create surprising drawings. The distortions remember me the Gaudí's work like in Casa Batlló. Nice composition!

Bonsoir Rob
Cordialement.

A very interesting set of reflexions, which reminds me of the kind of painting you use to do when you are young by putting diffrent colors in a folded shhet of paper then open it, since there is a central axis in them. Very nice catch of the silvery glittering of the metal sheets.
All the best,
Emmanuel

Bonsoir, mon ami Rob,

Hello Rob
This is a fascinating and very well executed image.
The designs resemble Art-Nouveau tiles.
Definitely worth the work involved.

Hij zal 'shoring up democracy' gaan heten.
Goed weekend,
Bert

Hallo Rob,
Zeker uw LV is fantasties.
Bedankt.
Groeten en prettig weekend,
John.

Hi Rob,
Good stitching & an effective mosaic. Superb reflections in the highly polished glass windows, with good colour & superb graphism. Tfs!

This must be a first Rob; a stitch of reflections! It must have bee a dexil of a job to get it right as there are no real recognisable points of reference. The result is fantastic. A very unusual abstract.

Hola Rob.
Looks like walking with Lars his "reflection's virus" passed to you and you did a good work with the interesting shot and your first large version. Very well done.

Hi Rob,
You really zeroed in on the most fascinating part of the facade, with a splendid result. This double mirror image really teases the eye and yet pleases - a good example of photography that does not have to overwhelm us with size, when small can be better and of equal or greater impact. I can't help but notice that if this is turned vertical, there is a layered effect not unlike a North American native totem pole. Great work, Rob.

Hej Rob,
Groeten,

Hi Rob,
Fantastic reflections and an excellent work stiching together six pictures. Also a very good idea to have a supplementary picture. As almost always I keep looking at your pictures having difficulties to figure out what it is. Here I have difficulties to figure out what it is that is reflected in such a wonderful way. So if you also have a picture of that I would love to see it. Have a nice week end!
Cheers,
Ulf

As we are in democraty I would protest about the lower part of the frame wich is different from the small image to the pano.
In the pano we miss to examin each framed reflection..
Well I am not upset the whole work is inspired, there is a good quality and the colors are homogeneistic.
A nice pattern full of originality.
I like it

Hi Rob,
I am fascinated by this mirror of mirrored shapes and the striking effect it can create. It just showed how far photography and a creative mind can go. I enjoyed this repetition and the lovely shapes while the colours are most down to earth. Brilliant shot!!
Have a nice day.

Hi Rob
The building as presented in the WS looks rather ordinary, I am quite sure that i would never have seen this nice mirror detail.
I like your stitch, very original and in a good quality. I like the twisted almost kaleidoscopic architecture in it.
Nice one

Hi Rob.
This is definitely a very interesting graphical work that you present here and it fits so well with these thematics of your gallery dedicated mostly to modern art (and modern architecture!). I like the format of the pictre and the superb metallic textures.
A great tribute to the architect who has designed the building!
Thanks for sharing!

Hello Rob,
Cropped well in horizontal format, to emphsis the details of the reflection.
Each pan shows a bit of diff. scene - but the whole culminate to one big picture of the opposite building.
A photo well carried out.
