Photographer's Note

A Dutch Tiger

More than a year ago I posted a photo of a lion in The Netherlands (, taken during a visit to Landgoed Hoenderdaell (The Hoenderdaell Estate). Here’s another one with another feline fellow.

Landgoed Hoenderdaell, located near the town of Anna Paulowna, claims to be one of the animal-friendliest zoos in the Netherlands. It is home to several species of birds, reptiles and mammals and also houses Stichting Leeuw (The Lion Foundation), which aims to rescue lions, tigers and other felines worldwide and offer them shelter. It also strives to return the rescued animals to their natural habitats, if that proves to be possible.

I had to take this photo through one of the small square of the fence, like you see in the background and zoom in quite a bit as well.
