Waterlandkerkje:
A Dutch village on 8 km of the Belgian borders

Waterlandkerkje is a village in the municipality of Sluis, in the Dutch province of Zeeland. The village, located on the road Oostburg-IJzendijke (N676) and the road to the Belgian border towards Waterland-Oudeman and Sint-Margriete, has 538 inhabitants (January 2012). The main facilities of the village are the village house, the clubhouse of the curl club "De Meermin" and the village bus of Stichting Dorpsbus Waterlandkerkje for mainly the transport of primary school students to the public elementary school "De Schuttershoek" in IJzendijke.
Waterlandkerkje is regionally known for its many church concerts and the "Meerminnefeesten", which are organized every year during the weekend after Pentecost. Nice to know: Waterlandkerkje was founded in the 17th century on a three-storey dyke. The fragile 'hall church' was built in 1674. Waterlandkerkje is one of the most beautiful place names in the Netherlands.
I hope you like it.
