Canals of Amersfoort

A photo taken a couple of weeks ago in the city of Amersfoort, which is the second largest city in the province of Utrecht. The medieval city centre, Amersfoort received city rights in 1259, is well-preserved, as I showed many years ago as well when I posted a picture of the Koppelpoort city gate. The name Amersfoort means 'ford in the river Eem' (formerly Amer).
