Zaanse Schans - Visit of the pre-industrial era’

Different TE-members have posted already lots of beautiful pictures of the Zaanse Schans.
With my two pictures here I made an attempt to show you the well known landscape with the windmills from another POV and in a composition different from the previously posted photos.

The Zaanse Schans is a neighborhood of Zaandam, not so far from Amsterdam. This outdoor attraction, an interesting excursion from the Dutch capital, was established with the aim to preserve the historical heritage.

Between 1961 and 1974 a few windmills and several beautiful old houses from the region have been brought to the Zaanse Schans by huge trailors. Here they were restored to their former glory.

A visit lets you get acquainted with the history of the pre-industrial era.
