Photographer's Note
Lower Windmill K (ondermolen K), located at the Molendijk near Schermerhorn.
Build in 1633 and one of a group of windmills that pump the water from the lowlands to the surrounding canal. They pumped it in stages, every mill takes care of a certain elevation. This is one of the lower mills, the one in the background is the accompanying upper windmill G.
At the moment the windmill cannot pump any water. The water pumping mechanism is in bad condition and taken out of the windmill. Besides that, the original supply canal has been lowered and rerouted. They are working on this situation to get the system working again (for fun).
The wooden structure inside is original, but you can imagine that the mechanisms and reeds don't last 400 years. It has recently been resurfaced.

postcard setting, great lead in line with the water way, and a beautiful windmill standing proud on the bankside. A very good well executed shot.
