Self-portrait with Red Car
This is the little village Penningsveer some kilometres east of Haarlem.
The village is situated in the recreation area Spaarnwoude.
This is a former agriculture region. Now a mixture of nature reserve, agriculture and recreation for inhabitants of Amsterdam and Haarlem.
The scene is a little distorted because I had to take the picture in this traffic mirror in order the make a self-portrait.

It's actually the distortion that I think makes this picture. It forces you to look at the boundaries of the picture and then return in. It's an very interesting view, different and naturally framed.

Een echte alvaraalto-foto! Origineel, leuke POV, grappig effect! :-D

Hi, Rob, I can't say you're that good looking with your face distorted and a black Konica Minolta covering most of it.
However, the photo is nice. I like the square cropping and the full red color. Good work!
Best,
Matt

Hey Rob. Nice to see a new post from you. I like the use of the fish-eye look because we rarely see this on TrekEarth. I think there's a self-portrait theme, and if I find it I'll add the shot. This was a great idea and you were very successful with it. I like it Rob, well done!

Very interesting picture Rob. With an excellent frame, a natural one.
If there is not a distortion in your abdomen beacuse of the use of the fish eye lens, you should loose some weight. jaja
Well done.

Bonjour Rob,

A very creative Self-portrait,Rob!
Excellent idea,-very well captured!
Interesting that you left a view on the sky around it,this adds something like a 3rd dimension to the compo.
Well done!

Cool shot Rob of you and your Skoda, and nicely framed. No fuss pot can remove this one since the frame is natural! The colours are very clear in contrast to the shadowed frame - nice play with the different light conditions. At first I was a bit worried, but then I saw that you managed to include a bridge in the picture.
Thanks,
Magnus

This is a very good idea, the framing is excellent whith the borders of the mirror and the colors in it.
Nice auto (mobile) portrait.

Beste Rob,
John.

Hi Rob
I see that you use your minolta the same way I do. Unfortunately for me you see more great motifs like this one. A distortet car and you in a trafficmirror. It's genius and great
Well done

An old idea executed in an interesting way, Rob.
I'm pleased you got it right here and think it's very successful for the reason that on one side we have this graphically perfect square framing of the spiegel (straight verticals and horizontals) contrasting the inside frame that is twisted by curved reflecting surface.
The colours and amount of details you squeezed within the central frame iz amazing and the inner composition with all its deviations is just perfect!
I like it a lot!

Hi Rob, Nice picture and a nice self-portrait. I like the entire composition: nice frame, twist colorful background. A very nice and creative image. I thought the very out layer was Microsoft window default screen background for a moment. Well done.

Hi Rob
It's a very good experience and nice "simply red" colour.
Next time try with a Ferrari :))

Mooie rood wit blauwe kleuren.

Hi Rob. A unique and interesting shot. I like the POV down the road in one line and the 'self-portrait' in another direction. Well cropped and deftly executed. Cheers.

This really caught my eye even in thumbnail.
There's so many layers: sky, frame, car,
background and the self-portrait. A place
worth going back, on different weathers,
different seasons.

Hoi Rob,
Groeten,
Emiel.
