Photographer's Note
For the Dutch Yachting magazine Nautique i was writing a article of the Heineken Regatta 2003. The first day we went with a pressboat to sea. I was difficult to take a steady and sharp shot. The pressboat was a little speedboat with huge outboard engines. But we had a good skipper. I take a couple of shots, this is one of them.
You can see a wave of the pressboat, when we chased the boats on full speed.
The next day i got on this beautiful ship; The Sensation. She is a Gerard Dijkstra desined shooner. The underwater ship is similar with the underwatership of the Flyer of Conny van Rietshoten. This famous Dutch sailor won two Withbread's.

Ah ouiiiiiiiiiii ! le bateau coincé entre les nuages cotonneux du ciel et la vague en rafale d'écume ! c'est magnifique !
L'exposition est excellente et tout semble miroité sous le soleil. Le bleu de la mer est excellent ... d'ailleurs je préfère cette teinte moins prononcée que le bleu outre mer généralement plus commun à tes photos.
Le détail de la voilure est une pure merveille.
En tout cas c'est surement pour moi une de tes photos que je préfère :o)

Very crisp and vivid shot, Robbert, with perfect timing to catch the droplets of the gushing wave at the bottom right. A great regatta shot with the Sensation taking center stage, and the other boats seen in the back. Excellent colors, and the light creates a fine play of shadows on the sails. Well done.

Je suis véritablement étonné Robbert, à chaque photo de régate, c'est différent, et toujours intéressant. Outre le pied marin, il faut se tenir solidement pour prendre la photo.
Nous avons vraiment l'impression d'être à bord du bateau à moteur.
Très bien fait (encore et toujours pour notre plus grand plaisir).

Nice Frame Good Frozen moment in time Can almost taste the Oceanic sediments The Girthage Crasp Is Fine The composition is Flawless, However Just a tiny Bit cropped too much for the mast seems Not to have to much Freedom Within the Bordereux.
