Photographer's Note
Here's my little contribution to the pictures at an exhibition theme.
CONGO TALES - TOLD BY THE PEOPLE OF MBOMO is an exhibition in the Fundatie Museum, of which I showed you some pictures earlier. The exhibition was initiated by "Tales of Us" producers Eva Vonk and Stephanie Plattner who invited Dutch photographer Pieter Henket to shoot pictures of the Mbomo people of Congo. In a magical series of pictures the people re-enact various stories, tales and myths of their culture.
The pictures are on show at the Museum Fundatie until 5 January 2020. Highly recommended.

Hello Benny
Excellent composition for this photo. Actually the second photo in this style I comment the last few minutes, but I must say this one "pops" in a different way.
Excellent sharpness in this view, both on the picture and the spectator.
Lighting is perfect for this B&W photo.
Although I tend to dislike too extreme halo effects, the slight one you have managed for the spectator here is just right. It makes her stand out from the background very well.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Benny,
B&W was the only option for this. I guess that was the medium of the exhibited photo, and the lady fits the theme with her hair and clothes. The mystery of the serious, painted faces give us something to think of, which the lady illustrates in a well composed photo. I had to find this place on the map. It's very high up in one of the least known jungle areas in the world. I doubt even the Lonely Planet has been there.

Gert

Hello Benny,
I have to agree with Gert that BW was the only possible solution in this case! You made a fine job here, I had to fave it.
Best Wishes,
Gy

Dag Benny,

HI Benny,I don't know if black and white is the best choice for a photo from a photographic exhibition, I admit it's fine, but a ws of the same color scene would have been useful. An interesting post from this exhibition that I would certainly have liked to see, Africa is always in my heart. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hi again Benny
It's not easy to take a compelling photo of an exhibit in a gallery, especially in case of photo exhibitions but that's what you achieved here. The combination of the group portrait and the gallery visitor is so well seen and the b&w presentation excellent.
Best wishes
Kasia

Hi Benny
its not too often I get to say "I love the photo IN the photo", but that certainly is relevant here. yes, i'd go see this for sure, but only one problem...i'm in Vancouver. Its a very effective interaction between the two subjects, as if they're looking at each other's species for the first time, examining each other very closely. love it
cheers
