Photographer's Note
We are on Ameland, one of the dutch Wadden Islands.
Here you see the dike watchers' memorial, which was erected to honor the brave people who, at ungodly hours, watched over the dikes and over the safety of the islanders. The monument shows two sturdy men dressed in oilskin jacket and southwester during a storm on the dike, with lantern and life line.

Bonjour, cher ami Hans,

Hello Hans.
A most unusual scene, and a well composed photo. I like the viewpoint very much, and the sense of depth achieved. These sculptures certainly convey a strong sense of the formidable circumstances of the work these brave people did, even though they are set in a grassy field. I like the way the viewer is made to wonder what is beyond the horizon, which the last watcher is looking at. I also wonder about the scale of these figures; I assume they are larger than normal human size.
Regards,
Andrew

Dag Hans,
Mooie foto laag genomen, bedankt.
Groeten,
John.

Hello Hans,
nice the view of the two dike watchers memorial, that are placed perfect in the frame making the scene so beautiful and unique.I like the light and the colour management as the way that the statues outlined against the blue sky.
Have a good day,Danos

Ciao Hans
Complimenti
Ciao e buona domenica
Romano
