Morning Glory, a photo from Drenthe, North

Photographer's Note

The advantage of staying in an house in the middle of the forest is that you don't have to go further than the front door to capture the atmosphere of the morning as it breaks.
Apart from the birds, silence as we wait for a new day.
NB: for those interested I bought a new lens for my Z6, the Nikon Z 24-70mm. All the photos in Drenthe are taken with this lens except for the bird photos.
I think the lens passed its test, I am really pleased.

Hello Elaine,
Not a bad view from your front door. The soft morning light shines very nicely on the mossy ground from between the trees. If this had been Scandinavia I would have expected to see a moose, but maybe they aren't so common in the Netherlands.

What an atmosphere ! Quite mysterious with the dark forest , but some light on the moss in the FG .
Very well exposed in difficult conditions.

Hello Elaine,

It's easy to understand the appeal of the countryside when you see photographs like this; and from your front door!

The morning light has made the ground cover take on the appearance of shiny silk, whilst all around, the trees look like sentinels, patiently waiting to be included in the warmth of the morning.

Light is really lovely on this one, both on sunlit places in the foreground and showing between trees in the background. Such forest with coniferous trees could really be in Finland too, except that we still have snow.

this is proper social distancing. No people in sight!
Again I would not expect such views from very densely populated country like the Netherlands.
The forests are so challenging to photograph having limited light available, but you have well captured the mood of the place.
