Photographer's Note
Kotor, Montenegro, June 21, 2017
I had just arrived in the town of Tivat after a long bus ride from Belgrade in Serbia. I wasn't going to stay in Tivat though, I only went there because it saved me 2 compared to the bus to Kotor. Arriving Tivat, I was left only 12 km away from Kotor. A great distance for walking.
I started walking up the hillside through a completely ordinary neighborhood, full of mosquitos. As the road was winding uphill, the views got better and better towards Tivat. Then I passed the top and the views to Kotor started opening up. It took me much longer than expected... The views were brilliant. One of those places where it may pay off choosing your own paths. I wouldn't have found those views if I went by bus all the way to Kotor. So if you're in Kotor, I recommend a walk further up the valley.
If you're short on time, the town of Kotor itself is beautiful. Small and compact, but it will take time to take in the atmosphere. The hike up to the fortress made my day.
After Kotor, I went by local minibus to Ulcinj, then continued to Shkodėr in Albania by another local minibus.

Hello Fredrik ,
What a gorgeous view from this high POV . The road and the red tiled roofed house in the Fg adds to the depth . Splendid light and colors .
Regards
