Photographer's Note
Some years ago, planning my vacation trip, I wanted to learn more about Montenegro. So I found some website with picture galleries and... I was shocked! Simply I couldn't believe that so much beauty can be packed in such a small piece of land. And the more I was learning about the country, the more enchanted I was with its richness and diversity, both in terms of nature and culture.
Especially, Skadar Lake and its surroundings are among the most beautiful places, not only in Montenegro but also on the entire Balkan Peninsula.
I want to present you a river - Rijeka Crnojevica is its name, and it's an affluent of the Skadar Lake. Its length is only 13 kilometers and the drainage area is some 70 square kilometers. But as usually in Montenegro this short strain of water is extremely picturesque.
The river is very clean and the water is amazingly clear - it flows through the karst valley. Its current is slow so there's so much vegetation. You may see it - almost the entire river is overgrown with plants, among which water chestnut is often dominating. Such a rich habitat attracts a lot of birds. It's a great place to observe them, even close to human settlements. There are several old stone bridges you can use for that purpose, all from XVIII-XIX century (one of them you can see on the picture)...
The villages along the river are small, old and live their own sleepy life. It's nice to go there as well, sit in one of the small local restaurants just above the water, watch herons, eat local wild carp (extremely delicious) and have a pint of Niksicko pivo along with the food... just like paradise :-)

Hi Michal
I like very much this landscape of wet areas. It's look like the Neretva near Dubrovnik.
Cheers

Michal: for landscapes this picture excells. You've done great with all the details: super sharp and saturated enough without looking fake. The greens really jump out in this one. best, c

Nice representation of beautiful place. Fine perspective give us feeling of space, and dominantly green surroundings give serenity to this scene. Excellent work
