Photographer's Note

Kotor is a coastal town in Montenegro. It is located in a part of the Gulf of Kotor. The port of Kotor is surrounded by fortifications built during the Venetian period. It is located on the Bay of Kotor, one of the most indented parts of the Adriatic Sea. Some have called it the southern-most fjord in Europe, but it is a submerged river canyon. Together with the nearly overhanging limestone cliffs of Orjen and Lovcen, Kotor and its surrounding area form an impressive landscape.

In recent years Kotor has seen an increase in tourists, many of them coming by cruise ships. Visitors are attracted by the natural environment of the Gulf of Kotor. Kotor is part of the World Heritage Site dabbled the Natural and Cultural-Historical Region of Kotor. The fortified city of Kotor was also included in UNESCO's World Heritage Site list as part of Venetian Works of Defense between 15th and 17th centuries.

Bonjour Zbigniew,

J'aime bien découvrir Montenegro par la lentille de ta caméra. On ne voit pas souvent de photos de ce pays. L'angle en plongée est vertigineux, net et précis.

Hello Zbigniew, you had an extremely high vantage point to achieve this view; and I notice how the cruise ship dwarfs the port.
A good composition, your notes are a good guide to what we see.

Hello Zbigniew,
What an impressive view of the town and river from a fantastic vantage point. The cruise shop is well included and still looks so gigantic compared to the buildings of the town. Excellent light and a nice mix of green, red and blue colours as well.

cześc Zbyszek, wspiąłeś sie gdzieś na górę i co za fantastyczny widok stamtąd. Nie trzeba drona. P:ieknie widać zatoką, statki i Stare Miasto z domami o czerwonych dachach. Wspaniała pocztówka.

Hello Zbigniew,
A very beautiful setting of this coastal town.
From your high point of view you present us also the beautiful natural surroundings and the long gulf where we see several ships that will come to drop new loads of tourists.
I'm quite sure not too many visitors will make the long hike to the top of this mountain. There will still be some quiet places in the nature in the area.

What a captivating and impressive plunging view ! We can see superbly the old town . But the cruiseshipp is a little ominous for my taste .

looking at your gallery page, its almost impossible to ignore this one. From this viewpoint you can easily see the Old Town and how its separated by the little canal. Cool to see the cruise ship and how large it is even from this elevation. sweet shot, very clear and sharp. cheers

Could not miss this one, Zbigniew, a sight that was breath-taking for us back in 2009 - and not much changed since.
from the height of the Lovocen ridge, the scenery of the most southern Fjord in Europe, is astonishing.
Good details of the old town, the walls and the small river crossing towards the port where a big vessel anchored.
Bravo for that beauty.
