Photographer's Note
This is a shot that I took a few years ago on a visit to Monte Carlo as we climbed up to the old town and the Royal Palace.
I liked the contrast in architectural style betweeen the old watch tower and the modern skyscrapers in the background.
Heavy cloud was already gathering over the hill, and a prolonged thunderstorm started about 15 minutes later.

Hi Finlay,
Its always very difficult showcase to subjects in a single frame. when your title is very crisp then viewers should be well informed with your point of Old vs New but you di it very well. Simple shot but sound very opt. well done.

Hi Finlay,
I love the contrast between old and new. I also a bit surprised that there watchtowers like this in Monaco. Very well spotted a really fine picture. TFS and have a nice weekend!

Hello Finlay,
nice contrast in effect between the small round major buildings in the background, beautiful architecture and beautiful natural colors,
best regards,
Valerie.

I thought I had chimed in on this one months ago, but here it is, either again or for the first time!
Monaco, to most of us, conjures up visions of casinos and grands prix, tuxedos and movie stars. To see there is a deeper history here is instructive, and to see it contrasted with the spectacle of the modern hillside is ART. Well done, sir!
