Photographer's Note

Cricova is the 2nd largest winery in Moldova after Milestii Mici, which is the largest in the world. Apparently Jews were hidden in some of the thousands of wine barrels during the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union during WWII. The wine is stored in old underground limestone quarries linked by 120 km of roads, some of which are 100 metres below the ground. Here is an interesting ceiling I spotted in one of the many wine tasting rooms.

I much preferred Cricova to Milestii Mici, which was a lot less friendly and lacking these charming decorated touches around the labyrinth, one of which I have already uploaded.
