Photographer's Note
Firstly, in no way do I condone or admire Lenin. He was a tyrannical, despotic megalomaniac. Even the Russians are 'woke' and tore down many of his statues in the 1990's.
Secondly, Moldova and Transnistria are for all intents and purposes, 2 separate and very different countries. Moldova is much like Romania in language, art, cuisine, religion and culture. Transnistria is more like the former USSR or even Ukraine, and lives up to the outdoor Soviet museum tag.
Entitled 'Monument to Lenin' by sculptor Nikolai Tomsky, the statue stands in front of the town hall in the bg.

Hello Chris,
I wonder if that's the suit Lenin bought in Stockholm in 1917 on his way east. Actually it looks like the sculptor had provided him with wings, like an angel sent to Earth to deliver the holy scriptures of Marxism-Leninism. The blue background suits him well and the fine light suited you perfectly.
Best regards,
Gert

Bonjour Chris,
Le cadrage serré met la statue en évidence. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de la statue de Lénine. La lumière rehausse la beauté des couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hi Chris
If Marx and Lenin had run a business or were middle managers, they would not have created that idea of rubbish.
Marx did not try, and he confronted the capitalist for the rest of his life and created this idea out of hatred. Of course, at the end of the 19th century, the factory's workplaces and workers' lives were poor, but all of them should not be denied.
Marx did not work physically all his life and starved his children to death. Lenin destroyed the nation with hostility to his brother's death.
Welfare, communism and socialism are clearly different. Nearly 100 million people have been slaughtered because of their flawed ideas. Currently, North Korea and China are feudal Surveillance countres. It's not a communist country at all.

Hello Chris,
A good photo of this imposing sculpture of Lenin from a place where he apparently still gets admired. The blue sky is a great backdrop here and the light was perfect.

Hi Chris
Lenin was, at least, not quite as bad as Stalin. I wonder how may statues of them both still exist.
Leaving aside who it is off the sculpture is of good quality as is the photo with a great POV.
cheers

Hello Chris
Interesting image of the one and only. I am amazed that this is still in the public view. Maybe in a museum somewhere next the rest of the monsters from history gone by. but there will always be those that are misled. Interesting image.

Despot or not, the statue looks great on the background of the clear, deep-blue sky. :-) I like your pov, I took a photo with the building in the background only and regret it now!

Hi Chris
A great sculpture of this heavyweight stone, beautifully framed with deep blue background that added an extra touch. I've never been good at understanding history as it depends on who teaches, reports or writes the story. We form our own truths..

in russia we can see many lenin monuments despite many of them were removed. I guess monuments should be preserved, can be removed from a square, but preserved, because they tell our history. I liked this lenin version where the sculptor tried to make something modern, it is hard to an artist produce something new being paid by the state to fit in such rules and at same time to create something new after so many other artists tried the same during ages.
I liked the photo, the adornments of the façades ahead looks interesting too..
take care

Hello Chris,
According to my sister's caretaker, Moldovans long for the communist days, so i am not surprised to see this statue preserved in good condition.
Regards,
MT
