Boats on Lake Ohrid, a photo from Ohrid, West

Photographer's Note

This image was taken very early in the morning.
The surface of the water was like a mirror and created the beautiful reflections of the boats.
The camera I used was a Mamiya RB 67 with a 127mm lens.
The negative was scanned with a Nikon 8000 scanner and slightly enhanced in Photoshop.

The best thing about this photo - no horizon visible, it disappeared in fog. But at the same time boats near the camera have very good contrast.

What I like in your photo is skyline, which actually is not clear and makes an impression of eternity. Reflections of each boat and grass are also great.

Hello Frans,

A very beautiful scene. The mirror effect on the lake is very surprizing and the fog in the background does not allow to see the separation between the sky and the water.
Each boat is well separated so that the reading and the visibility of the photo is easy. I suppose you took your time to compose this shot.

Excellent image, the water looks like it goes on forever. Very little ripples in the water which makes the boats look like they are moored on ice. Excellent mirror effect.
