Place Guillaume II

I finally managed to escape The Netherlands this summer and the first stop was Luxembourg. This photo was taken last Thursday in the early evening. It shows the central square called Place Guillaume II. The square itself is quite empty as well as being renovated at the moment, but the Cathédrale Notre-Dame with its steep spires just looked very beautiful in the warm evening light. Place Guillaume II, locally also known as Knuedler, is named after Grand Duke William II of Luxembourg, who was also King of The Netherlands.
