Photographer's Note

This is the coat of arms (crest) for the city of Siauliai. The Russians changed the design of a bear, an eye of providence, and a calf. They simplified the design and changed the eye to a stylised sun. You can see what the crest looked like before the Russians arrived here

I arrived late afternoon and the original image was very flat with low saturation, and little light or contrast. I've added both in photoshop. It has brought out the ray of sunshine falling across the lower stone. Sharpened the image as well. If you look carefully, you can see a crack in the stone facade at right.
