A Quiet Capital

Vaduz is one of the smallest capital cities in the world (it isn’t the most populous town in Liechtenstein either) and the town centre was pretty quiet, but nonetheless attractive, especially this end of the pedestrian area called Städtle, which is the located of several government building, like the new parliament building I showed earlier, and an older one seen here, which is just called Regierungsgebäude (Government Building). Right behind it is the neo-Gothic Vaduz Cathedral or Cathedral of St. Florin (Kathedrale St. Florin)

Hej Lars,
Det är ju inget fel på byggnaderna, och inte på fotot heller. Det är välbalanserat och ljuset och färgerna är fina, men det är ju inte direkt något myllrande gatuliv. Jag skulle nog snart ha tappat tålamodet med att stå och vänta på att få med lite mänsklig närvaro i bilden.
Jag ser att smittläget är allvarligt i Nederländerna igen. Jag hoppas att ni alla håller er friska. Vaccination verkar ju inte vara någon garanti för totalt skydd. Sverige verkar ligga lite efter just nu, men fjärde vågen drar nog snart igång här också.

Always wondered how they keep such a neat appearence of the buildings, Lars.
From the distant POV, managed to include the tower and sight of the street far ahead. Though my first reaction was to ask myself why not a closer spot for the elegant facade of the goverment building. Explanation merely refer to the superb picture space allocation here.

Het is precies of u was alleen in deze kleine stad.
Uw hoek keuze is zeker heel goed.
Een creatie van diepte en perspectief.

The length of the square is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the building. The light is giving nice tints to the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

Hallo Lars,
Deze foto werd in de omgekeerde richting genomen van een andere die je reeds eerder toonde.
Ik herken het kleine kunstwerk.
Deze voetgangerszone is niet enkel rustig, Ze is zelfs volledig verlaten.
Misschien is Liechtenstein een weinig bezocht land in Europa.
Het vroegere parlementsgebouw ziet er niet echt oud uit maar vrij elegant. Mooi met het groen op verschillende plaatsen.

I guess that there just aren't enough people in Vaduz to raise a crowd. A good photo of what must be the quietest main square of a capital anywhere.

I was struck by the cleanliness of this capital city as well as it being so quiet! This square and facade look immaculate.
Your exposure is sharp, with true colours and a fine sense of depth, created by the repeating buildings and glimpses of mountains in the b/g.

I think they are the first photos I see of this city, so unknown at least in my country, this corner is very beautiful with the palace and the cathedral, everything looks very quiet, as it usually is in a small town.
Superb sky, wonderful colors, splendid light and clarity.

very interesting note. It made me realize how little I know about Liechtenstein.
Charming promenade and lovely architecture but it is indeed a bit surprising to realize that this is the main pedestrian promenade of a European capital.
