Photographer's Note

It's a strange feeling to look through an old archers window to the castle, that still stands there, where it was. Just I'm standing on ruins, that before hundreds of years was the greatest building in the land.
But the church, one of the symbols of the god, still stands there... It was the greatest church of northern Vidzeme, testifying to the wealth and self-confidence of the citizens in this flourishing town.
This was the Dom Church of the Livonian Order, and has the tombs of masters of the order, priests and knights.
