St. John's Church

We cross the Baltic Sea and arrive in the Latvian capital of Riga. As a former member of the Hanseatic League, the historical city centre in Riga has been a World Heritage Site since 1997. Here you can see the Lutheran St. John's Church (Svētā Jāņa Evaņģēliski luteriskā baznīca). In the 13th century Dominican friars built the first chapel at this site, which was extended over the centuries.
