Photographer's Note

Riga, the capital of Latvia, was officially founded in 1201. Riga is located along the Baltic Sea at the southern coast of the Gulf of Riga, on the Rigava coastal plain. The historical core of Riga is situated on the right bank of the Daugava River, about 10 kilometers from where the Daugava flows into the Gulf of Riga.

Hello Achim,
A well composed image with good colour contrasts. The grassy area makes a pleasant frame and sets off the the pastel tones of the architecture. The eyes move naturally across the frame from left to right taking in the lovely architecture.

This "old" photo shows us with efficiency the beautiful architecture of the Latvian capital, with an interesting mixture of styles and a few beautiful textures.
A good control of the harsh light to obtain a good photographic result.

Hi Achim,

The point of view is sending my eyes toward the buildings which is giving depth to the composition. It is also allowing me to see the details and colors of the architecture of the buildings. The cloudy sky is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.

A beautiful cityscape with the nice colors of these houses very well collected. The large green FG give a greta depht to the image and learn the glance in the image.

Seems to have been carefully restored. The houses are interesting especially the one on the right. The dark shed on the left appears to be a restaurant. Light doesn't seem to be optimal, but well done under circumstances!
