Photographer's Note
Livorno is an old Renaissance town, built around a fortress in the 16th century by the Medici family; its territory is mainly on the coast, characterized by the sea and the cliffs, creating a fascinating landscape until Piombino.
The town was at first a fishing village, but during the centuries it was transformed into an important harbour on the Tyrrhenian coast, a central port for tourism and commerce as well. Today it is a renown production centre for alabaster, wicker handicraft, pottery and goldsmith's art.

Ciao MAtteo
eccellente inquadratura che dimostra l'imponenza della fortezza ma anche l'immancabile riflesso è notevole.

Great shot of this old fortress wall, I like the incredible detail that is visible here, and especially those huge cracks running up the wall. Good job of using the water and the reflection to create some interest in the bottom half of the frame, and good colour too. Well done!

Hello Matteo,
The reflections of the old fort in the water makes this a genuinely beautiful image. The perspective and composition are first rate, as are the colors and resolution. On cruises, I have visited Livorno 5-6 times (I give lectures on ships for about 4 weeks each summer), and the chance to visit Florence usually means skipping Livorno. But this is the finest photograph I've seen of the old port.
Warm regards,
Bulent
