Photographer's Note

This summer we got time to live a small adventure climbing the volcano of the island of Stromboli. The total altitude of the volcano is 2400 meters, but just 924 of them are above the sea level. The nonstop activity started when not even time as a measurable concept was invented.
This photo was taken almost at the end of the climbing, when you finally achieve to see the sunset on the sea and the smoke coming out of the crater. I had to do this photo while walking so not to much time left for think about how to do it, I just knew I wanted to include the sun no matter the pearls and overexposition (it was very hot), the people walking and the smoke, the three elements of this little adventure that I recommend to everybody, although you have to be in a reasonable shape to do it. Surprisingly to climb it down was more difficult, but this is another story. Thanks for visit this photo.
