Montefalco Castle (PG)

Its origins are obscure and uncertain, but its antiquity is testified by the considerable amount of Roman and early medieval archaeological finds found. It probably rises where there was a pago, whose territory, with the Roman order, was divided between the municipalities of Spoleto and Bevagna. The fourteenth-century crenellated tower, from which you enter the real historic center, shows from the external side of the walls the three loopholes used by crossbowmen, the Ghibelline battlements of the Romanesque era and the throwing gallery where the guards were stationed. Below the gallery, after 1543, the first Montefalco clock was inserted, which is still in operation today. The heavy oak doors that protected the entrance were removed only after 1930. Inside the door, under the vault, the very worn remains of a 15th century fresco depicting the Madonna and Child among Saints are visible.

Hello Silvio,
A very nice and well exposed view down the narrow street at the blue hour. The lights from what seem to be a few bars or restaurants create a pleasant atmosphere. The tower is a great focal point at the end of the street.

La longueur de la rue donne de la profondeur et de la perspective à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de la tour et des immeubles. La lumière de l'heure bleue donne un bon rendu aux couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Your photograph has an excellent viewpoint and really does look much sharper in the New Tab.
The textures of the tiled road are very effective, whilst its converging lines create a wonderful sense of depth and perspective.
The castellated clock tower, and the group of figures, make a fine b/g focal point.

Ciao Silvio,ottima prospettiva per mostrare qualcosa di interessante da questo villaggio molto celebrato ma sinceramente che non offre un gran che aldila' della piazza e di questa torre,ottima qualita' e ottima scelta dell'orario.
