Church of Santa Maria in Portella - Gualdo Cattaneo (PG)

It is a small church mentioned in the ecclesiastical archives as early as 1272. It was part of a small monastery located in this pleasant area, once particularly rich in woods; inside there are frescoes dating back to 1484, which read the inscription: "This figure has facta do Marcu de Tommaso Anno Domine MIIIILXXXIIII". Above a blessing God is painted, St. Sebastian on the lower left, the Madonna and Child with St. Anthony the Abbot on the lower right. To separate these two images, we find a slit window that illuminates the apsidal niche.
A foliate column supports the altar table.
Today, this little architectural jewel is privately owned (Azienda Agraria Santa Maria in Portella).
