Photographer's Note
DIEGO MARADONA, regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, died today aged 60.
Maradona inspired Argentina to World Cup glory in 1986 when as captain he displayed a level of skill, creativity, strength and desire arguably not seen before or since.
I know it's impossible to compare, but for me, Diego Maradona is the greatest football player ever.
I'm sorry to say that I've never seen him play live, though. My Maradona memories are when I saw him on TV, especially during that amazing World Cup of Mexico'86. Late, late night games, staying up too late just to catch all the magic, then having to do exams the morning after and somehow managing to get away with it.

THIS PICTURE was taken during a trip to Napoli, where Maradona is still revered as a saint, now thirty years after winning the Italian championship for them.
Do not go gentle, Diego, do not go gentle.

Hi Benny.
Definitely this presentation from Napoli touches memories, maybe hearts of many football funs around the globe, a great tribute to Diego here on TE. He has played at very competitive level during his best years in his professional career. It was always a pleasure to watch his technical skills and speed. TFS!!!

Hello Benny, I read yesterday that Maradona passed away. I am not interested in football, I have never seen even one match but of course, I have heard about Diego. Interesting street art and you have found a good picture of this sad event. 60 years old- he was quite young (old and young, how relative it is!).

Hello Benny,
No-one can dispute the amazing skill of this footballer and how much he must have inspired the lives of other would-be footballers.
No matter your nationality, you will have seen or heard of him. 60 is a young age to die!
Thank you for this unusual capture and memento from your travels,
Bev :-)

Goedenavond Benny,
John
