Photographer's Note

Parish church San Vito from the 14th century with a charming mountain cemetery and the grave of the Dolomite pioneer Viktor Wolf von Glanvell.

On May 7, 1905, a 33-year-old mountain pioneerfell from the southeast wall of Fölzstein in the Hochschwab . This misfortune caused remarkable attention and sympathy in the world of mountaineering, because he was considered a very careful mountaineer. He left his wife and daughter Irmingard (born March 22, 1905), who was only a few weeks old and was buried in the cemetery of St. Veit in Braies with a view of the north wall of Seekofel.
