Photographer's Note

Salvador Dali's strange mind saw the warping of time in a manner evocative of Einstein's General Theory of Relativity — warped time and space. Seen here in a Venetian Shop window are 3-dimensional replicas of Salvador Dali's Paintings of Clocks , and all set to different times. They are also very expensive, giving meaning to the expression, "Time is money." This photo is symbolic of the arrival of the New Year for members of Trekearth: first in Samoa, and an hour later in New Zealand, an hour later still in the Marshall Islands, then successively in Sydney, Tokyo, Beijing... New Delhi, Tehran, Istanbul, Athens, Rome, Paris, London...Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Hawaii... As January 1, 2012 ends in Samoa, January 1, 2012 begins in the Marquesas Islands.

With this last post for the year, I wish a New Year characterized by health, happiness and prosperity to the Trekearth Community.
