Photographer's Note

The " bricole " (in italian) are the sets of stakes driven into the sub soil and they serve to demarcate lanes in the laguna of Venice.
The French equivalent word is " duke of Alba ".
These piles can also be used to moor boats. It was their original function in the sixteenth century.
