Photographer's Note

Mi piace molto catturare il movimento in fotografia, l'istante dentro il quale un oggetto si smaterializza completamente, diventando una scia o un alone di luce. Dietro il passaggio veloce del vaporetto eccovi una veduta del palazzo del Fontego dei Tedeschi che sorge dal 1400 a ridosso del Ponte di Rialto. Ricostruito dopo un incendio divampato nel 1505, era il deposito dei mercanti che venivano dal nord e dall'est: tedeschi, ungheresi etc. In tempi più recenti è stato la sede delle Poste Italiane. Attualmente è proprietà del gruppo Benetton; si sta parlando di un suo prossimo restauro e trasformazione in centro culturale e commerciale.

I love capturing the movement in photography, the instant in which an object is completely dematerialize, becoming a trail or a halo of light. One step behind the water here is a view of the Fontego dei Tedeschi palace rising since the 1400 near the Rialto Bridge. Rebuilt after a fire in 1505, was the deposit of merchants who came from the North and East: Germans, Hungarians etc. In more recent times has been the site of Poste Italiane. It is currently owned by the Benetton group; they are talking about his upcoming renovation and transformation into the commercial and cultural centre.

il tempo d'esposizione lunghissimo ha trasformato il vaporetto in una champagne supernova che dona riflessi dorati ai palazzi circostanti.

Venise le jour, Venise la nuit ! Il émane de cette prise de vue nocturne un charme supplémentaire sur la beauté des édifices, une ambiance agréable et presque onirique.
Bel éclairage.
Les traits lumineux accentuent la particularité de cette composition.

Beautiful effect, not just on the moving object (a boat?) but on the surface of the water itself as well. Nice low light shot, with the surroundings in a warm glow, and I love seeing the illumination on the visible part of the bridge.

what moves so fast on the canal?? Very creative shot of the Palazzo and the nearby Rialto. Superb night shot. Excellent effect, nice light.

nice the night view of the building with the running car to ctreate this spectacular optical effect.I like the halo of light with the 3 secs to works well for the scene.

Ma da quando vi conosco Treviso ...il Brenta si ...
Il vaporetto veloce ed il palazzo, Fontego dei Tedeschi.
Vedi conoscere la storia di questi palazzi ...ma quante vite ??:

Hi Simonetta, absolutely great photo. I like the warm colors. I think also like the light motion which focuses my attention on the form and color in this image. Beautiful lighting in what must have been a wonderful moment to witness.

ciao simonetta,
questo e' sempre stato uno dei miei angoli preferiti di venezia, forse perche' mi e' sempre piaciuto il fontego dei tedeschi per via degli ornamenti in alto sulla facciata (sto dimenticando l'italiano, non mi ricordo piu' come si chiamano...).
la scia di luce lasciata dal vaporetto sembra un dettaglio da film di fantascienza, un attimo di teletrasporto alla Star Trek o di passaggio tra dimensioni parallele alla Stargate. hai presente quei film dove lo stesso luogo viene mostrato attraverso i secoli, in un continuo balzo avanti ed indietro nel tempo, tra il cambiare della storia e l'immobilita' dell'architettura? ecco, si potrebbe immaginare qualcosa del genere in un angolo simile :)

the light in this picture is superb. the pavement stones, the reflections in the water, and the nicely illuminated buildings are all wonderful. the effect of the long exposure and the moving boat passing the scene is excellent.
