Photographer's Note

One of the most classical views of Venice. From Riva degli Schiavoni, S. Marco, to this church, which is one of the most beautiful of Venice, S. Giorgio Maggiore.
A church dedicated to S. Giorgio was built in VIII century. The actual one was built on a project by the great architect Andrea Palladio, from 1565. However, Palladio died 30 years before it was finished. The facade was terminated by the architect Vincenzo Scamozzi in 1610.
The tower bell (75 m high) was built in 1467 and rebuilt in 1791.
From the tower bell you can have one of the most beautiful sights over Venice. Unfortunately, the day I went there, too crowded to get on the elevator...
So I give TE people a sight which is a classical one of Venice's night shots, but I love it.
I hope you'll like it.
