Photographer's Note

St. Mark's Square that is. This was taken from the top of the Campanile, the bell tower of St. Marks Basilica in Venice, which can also be seen as the cut off pillar in my previuos shot of the square. For another view from the top, here's the opposite view (thanks to Bulent).

Again, not really sure about this one, but liked it for the patterns of the tables, the shadows and the geometric pattern in the stonework. It was tough to compose, as the stonework and lines in the square are not exactly parallel & perpendicular to each other so alot of the lines are off just a bit, not because of the original builders, but because of the upkeep and settling of the stone through the years and centuries. Thus, the title...???...

If you ever go to Venice, it's definitely worth a trip up. Just go early to avoid the crowds and be forewarned that it is a belltower, and those huge bells are still up there hanging over head, waiting to ring...

Let me know what you think
