Photographer's Note
Venice's Island of Burano, where all the houses are lovely bright pastel colours. I spent half my time there with my camera near the floor shooting the dogs and cats that were running around, and then I noticed this scene.
No one locks up their bikes in Burano!

James,
A very nice colour study, with the beautiful red of the wall and then an accent thrown in with the slightly different red of the bike.

I remembered Vittorio de Sica's 'Ladri di biciclette',when I see your compo:-) I am not sure if it were also in venice but I hope it has not been stolen.
nice colors, and the bicycle looks great at the corner.

No one locks THESE sort of bikes in Burano (just joking).
Nice shot. think about this white strip on the left. There is no excuse to be there.
All the best.

re: white stripe. i think that if one goes for setting mood with this photo, the 'white stripe' is a nuisance. however, it is a picture of a finite object. i think that white stripe throws everything a bit off balance without bringing all the attention to the bike. had you removed the stripe only the bike wold be accentuated. with the stripe the entire picture is live. good frame [same thickness as the 'stripe']. for the subject matter it's better as it is.

I love cracked, decrepit walls .As Leonard Cohen said: "there is a crack in the wall so the light can get in". Red bicycle on red wall almost perfect.
