Una situazione tipica che non si può non incontrare a Burano: biancheria varia stesa ad asciugare in luoghi pubblici e di passaggio.
In generale, le case di Burano sono piccole e non ci sono spazi interni o terrazze di dimensioni sufficienti a questo scopo, per cui i residenti, che sono pochi e si conoscono tra loro, stendono i panni fuori casa. Questa è sempre stata una tradizione e non è un problema per i numerosi turisti che visitano l'isola e che mostrano di apprezzare la tradizione, passeggiano tra la biancheria profumata di sapone e scattando foto. I residenti sono abituati.
Uno dei vantaggi (oltre alle opportunità di scattare foto per i visitatori), è che il metodo non consuma energia elettrica, ma utilizza fonti naturali. Ovviamente, durante le giornate di pioggia o nebbia, ci sono sempre le asciugatrici elettriche (ai nostri giorni...)

A typical situation that we may certainly see in Burano: bed linen and other kind of clothes hung out to dry in public places, such as streets and small squares.
Generally, the houses in Burano are small and there are not indoor spaces or terraces large enough to this scope, whereby the residents, that are few and know each other, uses the public places. This has always been a tradition and is not a problem for the many tourists that visit the island, which show to apreciate the tradition, walking throught the clothes scented of soap and taking a lots of photos. The residents are accustomed.
One of the advantages (besides the opportunities to take photos for visitors), is that method does not consume electrical power, but uses the sun and the wind. Obviously, during rainy or foggy days, there are the electric driers (in recent years...)
