Acquapalombo Castle - Terni (TR)
Acquapalombo is a locality of the municipality of Terni (TR) perched on a small steep hill in the valley at 520 meters above sea level in the Valserra area, in a strategic position along the ancient route from Terni to Spoleto.
Together with the Santi di Battiferro it was part of the defensive system of the valley, where the Terre Arnolfe bordered the Municipality of Terni.
From its lookout tower the whole valley from Battiferro to Porzano was visible.
In 1332 it was part of the castle of Castiglione, together with the villas of Appecano and Poggio Lavarino it constituted the so-called Val Peracchia, registered in the income and results book of the Aapostolic Chamber, it paid the focatico for 61 hearths.
In 1333 two and a half papal money was fined for not having obeyed the invitation of the rector, or vicar of the Amolfe Lands, to intervene in the parliament that was to be held in the locality called the Hermit.
It is found in the chamber register of Cardinal Albornoz of 1364.
In 1395 he spontaneously entrusted himself to Spoleto.
