Osteria di Reggiano - Spoleto (PG)
It is located at the intersection of Via della Spina with the road that leads from Poreta towards the Forca di Bazzano. The tavern is documented from the second half of the 15th century but the buildings seem to date back to at least a century before and the place was already inhabited in Roman times, as evidenced by the presence on the spot of numerous archaeological finds, tools and earthenware, tiled tombs and tombstones from the Roman era with inscriptions. In 1470 it was leased, along with all other land and possessions, to the noble Onofrio of Nicola Pianciani by the Prior of Santa Maria di Reggiano and Vicar of Santa Maria dell'Eremita. In fact then the tavern remained in the hands of the Pianciani, who controlled the whole area, and only at the end of the eighteenth century was partly sold to the Loccatelli - Martorelli, partly entrusted to the Francolini of Spoleto, who then gave it to the Congregation of Charity. Currently there is a carpentry shop. Despite the tampering suffered, the old medieval structure is still read by large brick arches.
