Photographer's Note

Hermitage of Santa Maria Giacobbe in Pale - Foligno (PG)
It dates back to the 13th century and can be reached from Pale by a steep path along the mountain wall. Tradition tells us that Mary of Jacob, one of the pious women, retired here in penitence. Inside there are frescoes ranging from the thirteenth to the seventeenth century: in one of these appears the cup of the Holy Grail. The construction is so well excavated and built on the rock, that only a careful look allows the identification for those who pass along the highway 77, although this is a short distance away.
