Photographer's Note

Monte Vettore lies in the southern part of the National Park of Monti Sibellini, with the amount of 2,476 meters above sea level. is the highest peak in the mountain range Sibillini. Routes for Monte Vettore are long and challenging, but the tourists are rewarded with spectacular and panoramic views. Due to the fact that the route runs along the ridge walk when it's wet and windy conditions can be dangerous, especially during a storm - lightning liking this ridge.

The trails are not marked, especially in the beginning you have to be careful to rely on a detailed map or GPS tracks. There are many steep approaches, which require special precautions need to be careful on the steep drops to the side, though, and sections are rather easy. It is, however, a spectacular journey, requiring good condition and suitable footwear .

When we left at dawn from a broken tent for us to pass with an altitude of 1600 meters above sea level. (There also left the bike) it was very cold, but sunny. Below us stretched the sea of mist covering the plateau Piano Grande. On the trail to the summit of Monte Vettore (2477 m above sea level.) never met anyone - just stunning emptiness and amazing Umbrian blue sky.
