Photographer's Note

The Palazzo del Podesta is opposite the Palazzo dei Consoli, on the other side of the piazza Grande were started between 1348 and 1349, with the intent to create a twin of the Palazzo dei Consoli, but in 1475 were made of the work that stravolsero the original plan was put before the original building a porch supported by columns, which were chained to one of those that stained for damages against the country estates and their products.
Inside, now the city hall, the rooms are huge with vaulted brick, converging into a single octagonal pier.
Gubbio is located below the section of the State, with illuminated manuscripts, ancient documents, coming also from the surrounding monasteries.

Hi Silvio, I like how you have made use of a deep fg (with the interesting brick patterns) to give the image depth. the reflection off the wet surface adding to that depth. congrats Rich

Hello Silvio,
I like very much the striking contrast between the long dark foreground and the cloudy sky with the luminosity and sharpness of the building. The facade is really curious, even more so exposed to the strong light. I love the colours, the long dark foreground and its blurry reflections and, of course, the atmosphere. A minimal composition favouring the architecture, colours and atmosphere, well done!

I think it is the small amount of snow and the wetness of the ground of the piazza which really makes this picture so special for me.

The reflection of the building on the wet stone paving is beautiful, even down to the textures in the gravel in the nearest foreground. Lovely soft colours, perfect exposure and stunning sharpness.
