Church of Our Lady of Scentelle

The resort of Madonna delle Scentelle, whose name derives from Centum cells, recalls ancient hermit appropriations. Small mountain church, the junction with the road leading up to the Forca di Bazzano to merge onto Via della Spina (the important link between Spoleto and Camerino for Colfiorito and the ancient Plestia), keeps with his dedication to this memory religious presence.
Built in the late Middle Ages, "With pious alms" he depended on the parish church of Grotti and was administered by two Santesi with the proceeds made from the offerings of alms grottigiani and the wayfarers. Inside is a viewable image of the "Madonna with Child" of the sixteenth century., Worshiped by the inhabitants of nearby Grotti, alleged by the painter Giacomo Piermarino of Castel San Felice, the Spanish student.
