Photographer's Note

This view from the top of the tower at City Hall in Siena shows the Campanile, and the dome of the Duomo. The Baptistery is the building to the right of the dome, and the cathedral itself stretches out behind and to the left, behind the Campanile. To the left of the dome you can see another wall of black and white stone; at one point there was a plan to hugely expand the cathedral; that wall is pretty much what remains of that effort once it was abandoned.

The roofs and building architecture you see here is typical of Siena (and of most of the historical hill towns).
