Leaning Tower of Pisa

When I promise classic views, I really do mean classic views. Gert recently advised me to visit less known places in Tuscany and he was right of course, but I hadn’t been to Pisa before and our route from Genoa went right past the town, so of course we couldn’t just ignore the famous Leaning Tower.

The Leaning Tower (Torre pendente di Pisa) is the campanile (bell tower) of Pisa Cathedral. Already during its construction in the 12th century the 56 metre tall tower began to lean. At the moment the tower has a tilt of about 4 metres, although it has been worse.
