Puccini's lake, a photo from Lucca, Tuscany

Photographer's Note

A view of the small lake of Massaciuccoli, close to the small city of Torre del Lago Puccini, a hamlet of almost 11,000 inhabitants, a frazione of the comune of Viareggio, in the northern Tuscany.

The Festival Puccini, an annual opera festival which attracts around 40,000 attendees, is held in its open-air theatre, a short distance from the Villa Mausoleum where opera composer Giacomo Puccini lived and worked. He is buried in a small chapel inside the Villa.

Torre del Lago changed the name in the 1938 to honour Giacomo Puccini.

A beautiful and simple composition with an incredible blue water and a calm which makes you to relax and enjoy the view. Nice capture.

Dans le bleu du ciel se mire le lac avec complaisance et magnificence.
Le voilier se laisse glisser de sous le vent.

Hi Paolo,
It doesn't look so small, maybe wide angle gives an impression of a bigger lake than it actually is. Harmonous all blue tones and plenty of sky gives a peaceful feeling. Sometimes it gives a bit boring result, I'm not sure what makes a difference this time. The boats of course have something to do with that. Maybe that pole on the right could be omitted.
