Photographer's Note

The Vasari Corridor connects the Uffizi Gallery across the Ponte Vecchio to the Palazzo Pitti on the opposite bank of the Arno River. Giorgio Vasari built this structure in only five months which was commissioned by Cosmos I. The 3,280 foot building original was a private escape route for the ruling Medici and Lotharingian families up until 1866 when it became a public art gallery.
